This watch was made with active and less active seniors in mind. For more depending, fragile or Dementia/Alzheimer's sufferers, this can be very helpful for their loved ones!
It's principal function is what we usually find in medical alert systems : an SOS button for an emergency call. We wanted seniors to be able to call for help in case of illness, fall or other emergency.
But, our medical background experience, taught us that most accidents happen outside, not far away from home, and in the bathroom. Classic medical alert buttons are not worn in this situations !
We made our watch to fill these gaps. You can go out and garden, walk, cycle even travel abroad, and you can always count on it. You dont have to take it off for shower nor for dish washing, it is waterproof!
You don't have to own a mobile phone, not even a landline ! It uses its own SIM card to connect to the cellular network. But you can use it to place calls like a normal phone, and even send and receive voice chat messages to your family members (they have to install the smartphone app).
Not only that, but you can localise the wearer, inside or outside and be notified when he passes through barriers that you previously programmed via the app. You can do real time tracking or see the history of displacements. As the GPS technology permits, you can even have the speed and direction of displacement !
And when GPS signal is not strong, you can still localise, but with less precision : our solution can use LBS (cellular towers) to localise the wearer, and inside buildings the LBS or Wi-Fi technology!
In case of an emergency call, after the call has ended, the watch sends it's position and GPS coordinates by SMS .
There are very few solutions out there that give that much possibilities !
We went even further, with functions that can really facilitate your every day life !
You can check your activity, the number of steps and have an estimation of calories burned.
You can check your blood pressure and your heart rate, just choose in the watch menu and touch the screen to go ! 40 seconds and that's it ! Anywhere !
It never was easier to take care of your health!
There is a medication reminder, so you never forget your treatment. You can even program a medical appointment or your physiotherapy visits !
You even have a music player in the watch ! You can transfert some songs with the USB magnetic cable! Useful for lonely/dementia seniors and if you want to go for a walking or run, alone.
And yes ! It still gives you the time, date and day, and you can program alarms. You can even it have it read aloud the time for you by pressing a button !
For the moment, we don't have a 100% reliable fall detection ! The way these devices work is by detecting a sudden vertical mouvement, followed by no mouvement at all for a small period! We had too much false positifs and négatifs ! This algorithm only functions with a fall and loss of consciousness, but it's the way most devices function !
When seniors fall, it is not a high energy accident, and the device detects nothing many times. And as most accidents are painful, people move because of pain (or in case of epilepsy) and there is no rest period after the fall to trigger the alert !
Our experience shows that in more than 99% of cases of fall, or illness, the wearer is able to press the SOS button himself, or someone else is present to do it for him ! Cases of massive stroke, cardiac arrest or loss of consciousness, while alone, are hopefully rare !
We can activate this function, at no extra cost, but keep in mind that results are usable but not perfect ! We want to be honest with you.
